Dad's Day BBQ

After working all weekend we had nice break of relaxing and enjoying our families... and these special men in our lives.... our fathers... Kevin's Dad, my Dad, Kevin's Grandpa and Kevin of course!... we had a wonderful potluck (a great variety of food) and some wonderful strawberry shortcake cake! ... I didn't take tons of pictures as usual just a few good ones.... I guess I was pampered by Michelle and lost some mojo... sure it will come back soon!

a tired mama...

I am not sure if it is the heat, the parasite growing in my belly, or this bratiness that our sweet little Daisy has caught on to!.... (pulling Carter's hair, not eating any food we give her, being fussy and loud when she is expected to be quiet, throwing things everywhere, picking her nose till it bleeds, taking a part my pocketbook about 5 times, throwing a pint blueberries in the grocery store and they fell all over the floor, scratching Carter's face the day before our big photo shoot, and most of all learning to say no)...

I took a 2 1/2hr nap today with the kids, spent most of the afternoon sick and I am ready for bed already! ... maybe it is because she has does this three times in the past 28hrs....

Puggles comes to an end...

Carter spent Wednesday nights this past year being a part of the Puggles(preschool age) group for Awana at our church.... I grew up going to Awana and Kevin did for awhile too!... we figured we might as well make it part of our weekly routine since the benefits of having children memorizing and learning about God and his precious gift of Christ.... he enjoyed every minute of it.... it was hard to commit to due to my work and Kevin's prior commitment to bible study Wednesday nights... however it was worth the drives to church for many reasons... here are a few things he learned at Puggles....

1) how to arrange the chairs and "help" Mr. Edwin
2) the names of everyone in the group
3) that snack time is most important
4) that God loves him when he is scared (we still talk about that lesson cause I filled in that week)
5) Mr. Edwin draws a mean monster!!! I cannot compete with him!
6) God made the clouds, moon, sky, stars, sun, grass, vegetables, etc.

this was a wonderful program for him to be a part of... I love the handouts he received to take home and review the lesson...I highly suggest Puggles for any preschooler... here are some pictures from the Awana end of the year banquet....

here are some images from our family camping trip with Kev's family... we had such a wonderful time... it was relaxing and lots of fun!.... Carter loved the fire, the sand, the sticks, playing ball, gettin' dirty andthe smores! Daisy on the other hand I don't think will be much of the outdoorsy type... this may be difficult as she gets older... we have to break her in young!

the garden is in....

so far we've planted tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, carrots, green beans and lettuce... I still want to throw in some sunflowers in the back and a pepper plant since Carter loves green/ red/ orange peppers.... I love the garden! it is a nice sunny space... now we need to start thinking about a a compost pile (any suggestions? Kelly I thought you had talked about one you just started), patio and stairs off the french doors..... and I need to finish my OPAM (it's about 2/3 of the way finished)... now that I dol is over I have two nights a week back to do projects with my hubby! Yeah for COOK! I wanted a rocker to win before the season even started!

here is a shout out to my big bro who has completed nursing school.... I am so happy for him.... so is Jayme, his very patient wife!... here was our trip down for the pinning and celebration...

my baby dolls (past and present)...

I got out my childhood baby doll who was kinda a mess (thanks Christina and Rebekah!).... I needed her to make some PJs for Giuliana's baby doll (first thing I have made without a pattern at all)... so Daisy was curious about my little blonde hair, blue eyed German baby doll... she was cuddling her... throwing her... you know, all the general signs of affect 14month olds show... it was sweet really... I need to clean her up and give her a good brushing and get this nasty hair tread out that i think my sister's put in! Yuck! I am trying to teach Daisy eyes, nose, mouth, etc.... here she is practicing.... too cute!
