UMass football...

on Saturday we went out to UMass with Kevin's family to see the homecoming football game... the day was complete with a great show from the marching band... a tailgating meal prior to the game... reminiscence of Kevin's mom's days in college there... enjoying the wonderful weather... watching all the cute kids in front of us play and cheer... laughing with Alyson over the scantily dressed college girls... and a beautiful drive with all the fall colors putting on a show!

adventures in parenting: part I

so I worked all weekend and just as I was waking up Sunday I heard Kevin ask "what this white thing in Daisy's poop?"... well that right there got me out of bed to inspect... what did I find but a googley eye!... somehow, somewhere she had found this and swallowed it?... yuck!!... what kind of parents are we?... and we couldn't even figure out where it came from... so Monday during nap time Daisy was screaming... for a half an hour and she would not calm down... I started freaking out too!... calling Kevin for help (not sure what he could do?) but I eventually got her to relax by undressing her and then she feel asleep... later after supper however (i was at work, again!) Kevin found the culprit to her fussiness... a heart shaped blue jewel in her poop!!!!... we then realized she had eaten these off of a little pumpkin Kevin's Dad had given us... and when i asked Carter about it he knew exactly where the other googley eye was... quite suspicious if you ask me!

memories....

yesterday Carter found this puzzle from my childhood... even though there are more than a few pieces missing (I did find two more after the picture was taken)... Carter really couldn't put it together he just liked taking the pieces out of the box... so I put it together and it brought back memories of my childhood... I am so happy I have more than a few things from my childhood to share with my children... after all i am a pack rat so I have stuff everywhere that brings back beautiful memories... the best part about this particular puzzle is that it has all the seasons displayed in such a beautiful German(I think it's a German puzzle) country side... I especially love this one... the fall scene and all the pieces to that season are there...

I have wanted to take pictures of my kiddos in a pumpkin patch forever... and now they are big enough... so off we went to Tugas farms to a wonderful pumkin patch... I love these pitures so much!... can't wait to scrapbook them... and the carmel apple... do i need to describe how good it was?(just check out the pictures)

she did it!

everyone's been saying she would be standing soon and last night after a big noise in the nursery Daddy caught her standing up in the crib... and she just did it again as I was reading to Carter before naptime and we turned to her as she was talking and... much to our surprise she was standing there!... Carter was very excited... and Daisy was so proud of herself... and I was scared... as for the noise last night... it was her porcelain keepsake box that flowers came in when she was born... her little hat from the hospital was inside but it was in pieces... today I moved her crib and the shelf behind it so she would be safer... in a couple weeks Carter is moving into a twin bed and Daisy will be in the big crib which will be safer now that she is standing... oh they grow so fast!

new kicks!

I finally ordered Carter's new fall shoes... All Star "Chuck Taylors" in navy, size 7... honesty i wasn't sure how he would take to them since he is now starting to be particular(not sure this is the right word) about certain things... but he seems to like them... a little hard to put on and take a picture of but they are getting broken in already and they are just so cute... this whole ordeal made me think of his 1st pair of real shoes I bought late last August... too cute!

thank you homegroup ladies...

the sign is hung on our office/craft room... accross from my bed so i see it when i wake up every morning... fragrance of vanilla apple is wafting through my home... the beautifully scented soap has been rubbed all over dirty toddler fingers... the beautymark* is keeping my place in a knitting book... and the Chi is warming my soul as I get ready to nap and then work tonight...thank you again!.. it was such a sweet evening together as well!

it's official....

fall is in the air... and in my back yard (hence the leaves everywhere)...Carter was really into throwing the leaves into the air like Shannon was showing him to do... he really loved it and that is what I remember my childhood being like... pleasure in simple things for silly reasons... like just watching the leaves drift to the ground in the sunlight and making a big mess where no one cares if you clean it up... love that innocence!

dedicated to Him...

yesterday was Daisy's dedication... it was a wonderful service at church attended by both sides of the family... we went to the front of church and Pastor Eric held Daisy (who loved his tie)... he prayed over her and we dedicated our little girl to our Lord and Savior... " So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD " And he worshiped the LORD there."- 1Samuel 1:28... we do this not as a command but as a principle per say.. that all that is given to us is dedicated to Him... especially our children... for it is in His arms we want them to rest... Daisy was so cute in her little Polly Flinders dress from Aunt Wendy and I made her this headband the night before which she ate (paper flowers) on the way to church... she lost a shoe during the prayer... hey what can i say... I strive for almost perfection accepting the mishaps as humorous and "the way life is"... we came back to our house for lunch with family and the Pegram's... and had a girlie cake for Daisy who never had a baby cake... and she even had a few bites from Grandma!... the poor thing has a cold today and couldn't even nurse this morning.. she is taking a long afternoon nap which we all need and I didn't get
