the 4th,...

sorry somehow i forgot about these....

we had a wonderful two days in Boston at my Parents condo (they were out of town so we crashed it).... we saw Wall-E, went grocery shopping late in Boston, made lots of yummy food for Auntie T's friends, I made my tradition dessert that looks like an American flag, hung out on the beautiful deck, rode the T (Carter loves it), shared a snow cone between the kids (took up a half and hour), I stood in line for fried dough which also ate up half and hour, the kids we good (at least that is what onlookers told us) it is hard to see when you are trying to corral them....

each time I sit down by the Charles wondering if it is really worth the wait to see the fireworks and then they start......

they take my breath away! Can't help but think heaven is like this x a bagillion!

a romantic (work) getaway...

Kevin's work does a family outing to Mt. Washington, NH every year... last year we brought the kids and had a good time but this year we felt time so us was definitely a need.... we relaxed in the hotel room, took lots of scenery pictures, had good conversation (uninterrupted by kiddos), watch cable TV, ate lots of free, yummy food, stayed up late and slept in, went horseback riding (i've been wanting to take Kevin on a horse forever), talked about the new baby, got all dressed up, spent time in the spa and made new friends (well Kevin was already friends with his officemate Joe but i got to meet him and we both got to meet his girlfriend Lingse who is wonderful)...... over all we had a wonderful time.... and so did the kids with Grandma and Grandpa

Camping in Gloucester- part III

our last leg of the trip was having lunch in Rockport... we had to make trip there to get the traditional anklets that the Auntie L and G girls weartill they fall off.... this year Daisy and I were part the tradition.... unfortunately Daisy finally was okay with it being on her ankle and now it is missing (might have been lost at Grandma and Grandpa's).... there will be many years to come I am sure!... there were also Top Dog hotdags to be eaten.... ice coffees to drink and ice cream to lick...... just lovin summer!

Camping Gloucester- part II

so next was the hazy, chilly slippery pole contest where you hang out with a bunch of drunken Italians and watch their macho men ride out in boats(all dressed in costumes) to a slippery(lard covered) pole that hangs horizontal to the ocean about.... 30feet up or so... there is a flag at the end and they try to run out to it.... I guess it is a huge deal for all of them but I was just not feelin' the love.... it goes on all weekend and the winners from all the previous years compete on Sunday... needless to say we missed out on that one because Sunday it cleared up and we actually made it to the beach and saw the sun!

Carter was so happy to have promises of going to the beach, wearing his hat and sunglasses, playing in the sand with his toys finally fulfilled.... I was just happy to take some pictures and see how much or little Daisy likes the beach this year...

Daisy loved the beach... a little leary at first but then warmed up... this last shot was the end of the day when she had a mishap with sand in her eyes but other than that she loved it!

P.S. didn't you know the Unabomber hung out at the sandbar in Wingaersheek Beach?

camping in Gloucester- part I

so we enjoyed a wonderful (not weather wise but in other ways) weekend with the G family and L and her boys... it was lots of fun... the kids were entertained 80% of the time by everyone else and Kevin and I enjoyed leaving everything behind to spend time with our family and friends.... here is the start of our trip...
on Saturday we were cold and damp so we decided to get out to find some sun!... we made lunch then headed to Halibut Point (a quarry that is huge and right near the ocean)... after a walk we warmed up and ate some lunch, Kevin got lost with the kids which then made David and Noah get lost.... funny... well kinda.... we finally all met up!... we then headed to the Slippery pole contest.... stayed tuned for part II

this is old but here...

back when this was taken (June 19th) the baby was the size of a grape.... I figured we would compare with fruit for fun.... love this picture!

we're back.....

first things first...

a special someone celebrated the big 3 and we all went to a Pawtucket Red Sox game to celebrate, with tailgate and all....
