oh "happy" day/weekend....

a long quiet drive through the night... playing in the sand... catching some rays... eating the sand... taking pictures... rides on the board walk... freaking out on the beach (Daisy)... trying to relax and watch kids at once... "sandy" sandwiches and potato chips... football picks... celebrating "Happy" days... playing Settlers of Catan... sleeping in... Grandpa's waffles... fresh ocean air... a ride on the Surrey... marching bands and corvettes... pedicure for mom... knitting... Giuliana singing... pictures under the pier (love those)... Carter giggling... Laughing with my sisters till we cry... finding gross stuff in the water... talking about the new life about to join our family in the spring... discussions about the holidays... being honest... and a relatively easy ride home even though the traffic was bad...

movin' up

a couple of weeks ago we moved Carter to a booster seat at the table and Daisy to the high chair... aren't they cute!... they are both growing up so fast... feeding themselves... and making messes

it took him 2years...

to find the baby powder... I am not a fan of child proofing your house to the point that you feel a prisoner in your own home... so i have left the baby powder right out on the shelf of the changing table knowing someday this would happen... but honestly who didn't get to play in baby powder at least once growing up? break out the camera mom!

Brimfield and friends...

we joined David and Jen (not the Gents) for a day at Brimfield flea market... the largest flea market in NE... I love it there... not really a place for a bargain but a great place to look at stuff... cool stuff... pretty stuff... things I would never buy... would want to buy at some point... and things that make me say "oh my aunt has something like that" or "my grandma has that in her bathroom" or something even more random... it is fun!... the kids were so hot they were both very tired and chill!... we searched for shade and cooler tents... the only purchases i made was and old silver Gerber baby spoon and ribbon from my favorite booth there which I love and have been talking about for a year!... the spoon shined right up and we have used it already!...going with David and Jen was fun since David can appreciate anything creative or artistic... lots of strolling and talking too!... love that!... and David took a couple pictures for us!... it was the end of the day and we all look tired and hot... very fun though!

scrappin' like crazy...

I have been a busy bee and scrapbooking a lot over the last two weeks... 20 pages done... a combination of moments I wanted to capture on a page from after Carter was born... memories from 2006 album in the works... and our beloved little girls baby album which has been fun for me... I want to post these to two peas but I am not sure I can figure it out... I'll let you know when I do...

edited: here! I have some layouts up! figured this out during naptime! also this link is on the side bar for the future if you want to see more layouts!

visitors...

I know this is late but I had to include it here... Dave and Jayme came a couple weeks ago to visit and here are some pictures... Giuliana loves Daisy and the seemed to share some "girl power" this visit... the kids all played on Mom and Dad's floor for hours it seemed... the big D "Dawson" is much bigger than the little d... she seems so dainty compared to him... Carter and Giuliana made a game up by piling all the stuffed animals on Daisy... she didn't even notice they were doing it... it was so funny... Dave and Jayme had exciting news to share... a new baby is on its way!!!... I am excited after we all got over the shock and I truely think this new little bundle will fit right into their lives... I am however thrilled this is not me... I am just adjusting to two little ones at once... it has been rougher than I expected and I just am now feeling like I can enjoy these two people I have brought into the world... also we are limited in space (home/car) so we need to wait a little longer for any more additions... but Dave andJayme don't have these issues (not that they don't have any) but in my mind I know they will do just fine!... Praying for you guys!

camping in Maine

this was the third and last camping trip of the season with my parents and sisters... it was the coldest weekend we have camped by far... we hung around the fire all bundled up and drink hot cocoa... ate pudgie pies for lunch... we played lots of settler of catan... and I knitted... we went to the Old Orchard Beach boardwalk on Saturday evening and Carter rode on a ride!...YES! a big boy ride!!!... I was almost brought to tears as I put him on the ride and he took off without either Kevin or I, a grammy or grampy, grandma or grandpa, or an auntie... doesn't he look too grown up?... my heart breaks when I think of him doing more things like this but I know he is just fulfilling his own little life with memories and lots of fun!

vacation...

so sorry about the delay.... all i can say is "life with kids!"

so vacation was most wonderful... the basic thing was the four of us together for such a long amount of time was so nice and refreshing... the drive to Grandma's was so much better than I thought even though I was trying to have positive expectations (since your kids usually live up to your expectations of them or so I have heard)... carter was wonderful and stayed busy with all the little "activities" and gifts we had wrapped up for him... we kept things light and casual the whole time, nothing fancy or elaborate... a bbq at my Aunt Barb's, corn from the garden, visiting Grandma and Grandpa Carter's church, blueberry pancakes for breakfast, ice cream at Aunt Carol and Uncle Brian's, Carter beating up his second cousin Bob, dinner on Grandma's porch, a trip to the park, playing in Grandma's big driveway, watering the flowers, me digging through vintage fabric scraps to make a quilt for Carter, watching food netwoork and LAink late at night while the babes sleep, taking Roxie on walks and trying to get her to calm down (she minded me better than grandma by the end of the week), Kevin watching baseball, long talks in the car on the way home, visiting Kathleen and Rick Ellis on the way home, and getting home to sleep in our own bed... oh how I love that place and the memories it bring back to me... I hope my children will remember it too! if not at least I have pictures of them there... then off to camping (will be continued tomorrow)

takin' it easy....

vacation is in full swing... we enjoyed a picnic last night with the Corso family at Institute Park to see Over the Hedge... the twins are so cute and getting so big... I think Carter doesn't know what to think of the two of them... he has always been en mesmerized by them... and look who is starting to sit up!... our little D is getting big and strong!... we ate good food, a little wine , lots of baby play and bottle/eating with mommy time... we only stayed about half way through the movie (which was very cute) so we could get home and pack for our trip to Grandma's... we leave in a couple hours and I actually feel good about getting out of here on time... only a couple more things to pack then I just have to clean the house so we can come home to a fresh house... till Thursday... take it easy!

Vaca....

at 0730 my summer vacation(13days off) officially started (well I did have to sleep today)... I have been working a lot... not sure why but felt the need to make some extra $ and save it in case we go through our nightmare again... and we are really praying about new housing options! (I don't know why I put an exclamation mark there- we are just praying) and praying together... I love that!... it was Kevin's idea from church this past week which he loved (I was working/sleeping)... Aunt B was babysitting today and the kids seemed to have a good day with her... and the bath time graffiti was fun thanks Marissa!
