Late post: President's day at the Botanical Gardens

On President's Day we went to the Botanical Gardens at Roger Williams Zoo with Mimi and Papa and Uncle Scottie...

it was so nice to be in a temperature that you didn't need a coat and felt the sun on your face...

Daddy even kept his glasses on the whole time... Daisy and Carter like the water and the fish...
I liked the carnivorous plants and Orchids... Daddy like the tall cacti... then we went and rode on the old carousel...
it was really cool and such and enjoyable day...

Daisy turns 2!

We celebrated Daisy's birthday all day with friends and family.

It started with pancakes with Jelly( her favorite food right now) on it. She was a very unhappy Birthday girl to start out with so she didn't end up eating much...But by the time the Cupcake Party came she was very excited and had a wonderful time!

Grandma read "If You Give A Cat A Cupcake" to the little girls and Carter and Henry...

Then they colored cupcakes and added stickers and jewels...

Then we ate Mac and Cheese and PB and J sandwiches...
Cora was dressed for the occasion in her cupcake shirt thanks to Marissa!

Then we decorated our cupcakes with bright frosting colors and sprinkles

We sang to Daisy and then dug into those long awaited cupcakes!
We finished the day at Mimi and Papa's play Wii with Uncle Sean and Aunt Emmie... that was loads of fun but we were exhausted by the end of the day! It was really nice to spend the day with Daisy and give her some attention. She has been really working us hard with all her two year old antics but today was a day to look at the positive and she how cute she really is... she was well behaved and enjoyed every minute of her party! Something I never expected. Which brings me back to having the highest hopes for my children and not having fear that the bad days will last forever... I have hope that there is good to come tomorrow! Now we are off to start potty training!

Happy *heart* Day....

here are some "love"ly images for your Valentine's Day
Carter and I made heart sugar cookies for bible study a couple weeks ago... they were yummy!
love the fact that he figured the easiest way to frost the cookie was to dunk it!
today we made a healthy Valentine treat- Watermelon Popsicles...
taste better than you think!
and for dinner I made Strawberry Filled French toast with sausage and OJ (for dinner)

since I slept till almost 10 this morning and missed breakfast altogether... everyone was very forgiving and enjoyed their Valentine breakfast for dinner!

someone's almost two!!!

Can you tell?

This photo shoot was hard and long... very little things keep this girl still, let alone happy. She is a little crazy and has her own mind. She likes to do exactly what you are telling her not to do. I snapped a couple good ones and I am busy editing them... then I want to get them printed before she is a year older and much better behaved. Then what would be the point of all the hassle for a good 2 year old photo shoot?!?!?!

future scrapbooker!

Daisy got a kick out of watch my Cricut cut out letters last night... Marissa came over and we spent another (yes, the third in a row) Friday night scrapbooking... this time we were at our house since i just felt like staying home with the baby and it was cold!... Daisy got her first taste of scrapbooking and loved watching the Cricut do its magic!... I finished some journeling and did4 pages... not to bad since I had two nursing breaks!

bananas galore...

last week we placed a Pea Pod order and when it came we were all so excited to get essentials for a house with a new baby and sick kids and a hungry breastfeeding mama!... when the delivery man carried it all right into the kitchen I suddenly realized we had and abundance of bananas... YUCK!!!!! I hate bananas! It truly is the only food I can't even eat! well I thought I ordered four ripe and four unripened bananas but we received four bunches of ripe and unripened bananas! needless to say we passed out bananas to lots of friends and family over the weekend and only kept about eight for ourselves! however as far as Pea Pod.... LOVE IT!!!!!! can't wait to use my free delivery coupon in a month when I just don't want to take all three kids to the grocery store... totally worth it!

weigh in....

Alexis, our midwife/ "baby lady", came on Monday for Cora's one week check up... we weighed Cora and she had dropped to 8lbs even (from birth weight of 8lb 8oz)... since it was time to eat I nursed her and we re-weighed her to find she had gained two ounces!.. so even if she isn't gaining her weight back quickly we know she is eating plenty!... I take her to the pediatrician on Thursday so we'll check her weight then...

everyday surprises...

One thing I have learned as a mama is that everyday has a new surprise... last night when eating a meal we had received from someone at church (gotta love the meal ministry!!!!) Carter all the sudden got very excited to see the chicken drumsticks!... he started talking about how he was going to "Bite the meat right off the bone!"... I never make drumsticks because Kevin and I don't really like the bones so we were totally surprised by Carter's reaction... I honestly started to think he had received my father's "Bite everything off the bone" gene when Carter then explained that Mickey eats a drumstick like that in the movie... Ahah!... so what we really have here is a toddler that remembers everything he sees!.. but don't worry Grandpa he did the same thing with the left overs tonight!
