bye, bye mullet...

my baby became a little man last night...he got his first haircut...it is a little old fashioned but so darling...I knew I could just not take him looking like a frat boy (short and spiky hair and all) when the new baby comes...I cried as it was...but Maria our hairdresser was awesome and Carter sat still so well...and when he woke up this morning and was eating breakfast he kept running his fingers through his hair...too funny!
on the baby #2 end of things...I met my new Dr. today (mine had surgery last week and will be out for a month=(...I plan on not seeing her while I am still pregnant)...so my new Dr. is actually the one that was on call and delivered Carter!...she remembered us (that Kevin was quiet and Carter was very slippery when he came out...to funny!)...I have started to dilate which is good but I don't think I will have this baby at 38weeks like Carter...(I am 37.5 weeks now)...I took the advice of some women from babycenter.com (the mega baby website that has everything you want to know ever) and ate a whole pineapple this evening...well everything I could besides what Carter wanted...this is supposed to help bring on contractions which cause further progression to labor...so at this point I have been having some crampy lower belly contractions and some strong contractions but nothing to significant...labor inducing cream cheese, a long walk with Carter, two more loads of laundry and grocery shopping are on the agenda for tomorrow...probably a nap too!

nursery...

drum roll please...here is the finished nursery...here is Carter's crib...

Carter and Mr. B were chillin' while I grabbed these photos...that is Carter's infamous dresser in the background beautiful huh?...Kevin did such a nice job...

these are the bookshelves in the corner...and the "big top" circus tent from the windows in the old nursery...

this is Carter peeking around the baby's crib which is an antique and was my grandfather's, mine and many other cousin's and Carter's up until a few weeks ago...so cute!...he liked this photo shot and looks so curious like "what's going on mom?"...I think he really has no clue about the baby but I do know he is such loving little boy and has a lot of love to give...maybe soon we will see...

a preggo pedi....

notice these pics!...I finally figured this all out...seems that the problem just lied in my impatience to upload pictures!...And I am really using my new camera...and having Kevin use it too!...I am so happy with our purchase but need to learn more about it to use it to its maximum ability!

...my little sister, Tina, came to give me a pedicure tonight...I hate staring at my naked toes even for a second in the shower this time of year...let alone for hours while in labor...so Christina -thanks for the pretty toes!...I had my other sister do this a couple nights before I had Carter so now it is a tradition...we also watched extreme makeover home addition and I bawled my eyes out like any 9 month pregnant women should!...it was a truly relaxing evening that included some Mexican food and Ben and Jerry's...love being pregnant!

running out of room...

this baby is running out of room...not that I can talk to this baby but is really stretching out at times...so much that I can see it pushing on both sides of my belly at once...then bounce back into it's normal ball/belly shape...things are also shaping up in the nursery...Kev moved the bookcases up yesterday and I stacked toys and books on it...it looks so good!...the dresser got it's last coat of paint last night and Kev will move up here tonight...I am so excited!...so we just have the last piece of the bookshelf and the mirror on top of the dresser to paint another coat on...I am feeling like we might be completely prepared for the arrival of this baby before it comes...it is going to be freezing here tomorrow so Carter and I are running out tonight for sewing machine needles so I can finish the diapers bag I am making for the new baby...it looks girlier than I was planing on but it if this baby is a boy I will just use it as a pocket book...trying to mentally prepare myself for working this weekend...the last night I worked was hard but I got through...God give me the strength cause this feels impossible!

WICKED....

was wicked good! I went and saw Wicked the musical last night with some work friends! The story was cute and had some really funny lines and some long solos but the coolest and most distracting part for me (I always am distracted by something) was the costumes! Very Dr. Seuss, Moulin Rouge, and 80's all in one! Over the top and soooooooo colorful! I wish I had the energy to take a shower wear makeup and blow dry my hair in one day let alone wear an extravagant costume in the Emerald City! It was like a fantasy to watch and want to be apart of. But then it was over, reality hit and I headed for my 3rd trip to the bathroom in the P-PAC in Providence for the evening. So those Pats =(...Kevin and I haven't really discussed the game cause when I came home last night I was in a good mood and he was reading his U2 by U2 book and seemed over the game. Better luck next year! So today, thus far, has been fairly productive... three loads of laundry, hung up things in the nursery, packed Carter's bags for Grammy and Grampy's when I have the baby, my bags for the hospital, wrote Thank yous from Christmas (Sorry they are late everybody!), painted a little of the book cases, and mopped the kitchen floor. Having some contractions today...probably the most I have had in one day. I think the nesting thing is setting in!

I am at work tonight, kinda bored but can't leave my patients side. He is sleeping and there is a computer so I thought I would browse through some old pictures I have on snapfish. They were of the summer Carter was born. He was so cute, this precious little bundle that made our lives so full in an instant. I don't think anything else in life can do that in one instant. Maybe marriage but you have known that person most likely for awhile but when you become a parent you have that whole little person to get to know, bond with and you have complete responsibility for them. It is all at once and an amazing process to go through. I also loved seeing the looks on our family and friends faces as they adored Carter, enjoyed his little hands and feet, those cute baby outfits they had picked out just for him, and just how peaceful every one looks holding a newborn! Just some thoughts from just outside my pt's room. Back to work!

a yucky day...

Today has been gross. Ran out to get primer at Lowes for the dresser and it was pouring! It is almost freezing so I am nervous driving thinking there will be ice. I hate driving in dangerous situations while I am pregnant (and with a child in the car for that matter). I have done three loads of laundry and cleaned up some of Carter's toys. I found some cute bins to put his toys in under his crib. They are blue and then have handles. He helped me sort them and then mess them all up again, of course! Gotta love the help though! He is just starting to help me do little things around the house. So cute! At least he tries! Hope the sun is shinning were you are!

pats and 24 night....

So my lovely husband is watching 24 with head phones so he doesn't wake the baby and I don't distract him. Cute huh?!?!? I am not sure what to think of this but it only happens once a week and I get to scrapbook or sew for that time. I can survive plus I am in a good mood cause the Pats won tonight and it was the most beautiful 4th quarter of football I have ever watched! I even had tears in my eyes at the end (tell me I am not almost nine months pregnant.) They came from behind and took the win with a couple clean passes and a fake. So exciting. Even Carter was clapping! I just know my water will break during the Superbowl if the Pats are in it. I know that sounds weird but my water broke with carter just as we were sitting down to watch a Red Sox vs. Indians game my in-laws were at in Ohio. I am just curious! Well the cribs got set up and Carter is sleeping in the new crib for the second night. I still need to organize and clean up the room but I feel confident that it is all set for now. Carter's dresser wasn't even touched this weekend but Kevin has two nights with no baby (since I will be working and Carter will be at my parents) to sand the dresser down and prime it. I am so excited to see the finished product! I am also happy for him because he usually hates these things but due to the fumes he had to do it and has been patiently seeking my advice and working steadfastly on it. I will post pictures when it is all done. Oh, one more big thing is that we ordered my camera tonight!!!!! It is a Canon Rebel XT! I can't wait to get it and take pictures of our precious new baby with it! Sleep tight all!

an early morning...

...after battling with the cats this morning (they had my legs "straight jacketed" under the comforter) I kicked them out of bed...then out of the bedroom...mean momma I know ...but this momma wants her sleep and space...after tossing and turning and having my stomach growl for about an hour I am up eating an English muffin and cocoa...I have been a crab the last day or two...almost 35 weeks but wanting to have this baby tomorrow...today is the big crib day...moving a crib from a friends to Kevin's parents house...then taking their crib here to put in the nursery for Carter...Carter's current crib (an antique little crib that was my grandfathers is going to be for the new baby)...I am excited for Carter...he will have more space...last night we went to Uno's for pizza and then the baby mega store to pick out a special outfit to bring baby home in if it is a girl...I was a weird yet freeing thing to shop in the girl's section...I normally feel it is off limits to browse at the little girl clothes seeing as I have a boy in my cart...but last night it was fun and fun for Kevin...but he isn't getting his hopes up for a girl...he is so sensible...we have a little boy outfit ready if it is another boy...I washed the first load of new born stuff and have it half put away...we will do the rest once Carter's dresser is painted...Kev has been stripping the paint all week and it is drying and will be sanded down today hopefully...maybe primed tomorrow...we also need to paint some book shelves for the nursery and organize Carter's toys...wow!...why did I think I was ready for this baby already?

Trying this blog thing...

Hi all! I am setting this blog up to keep you all informed of things happening in our lives! The limes (us and reference to the funnest fruit alive -I think) are rolling along with life as it leads, trying to take each day as a gift and to cherish it. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby #2 in about five weeks! We are busy getting the house ready and "de-christmased". Sad really to see the holidays go. They were so fulling and fun with Carter being the age (18 months) he is. Loved it all! So this blog is something new and something I plan to stick to! We shall see!

Love,
Sarah
